Ippity Monday Challenge

I'm finally playing along! (JenMarie, are you proud of me? LOL!)

I had to use a variety of my sets, both Unity and Ippity, because I don't have many - it takes longer for me to get my stamps over here in APO land! Even though I won some, I have to wait longer. BooHoo!

So, anyway, the leaves on the front are from Ippity's Where You Should Be. The Sentiment on the front is Unity's May Store KOM.

The twist for this week's challenge is to use something FAUX on the card. I chose to make Faux alligator skin (the Old Olive background piece on the front. If you look, you can see the shine. I've been wanting to try it since I saw a tutorial for a "purse," done completely out of paper, on SCS not too long ago.

Inside, The "frame" is from Ippity's Regal Greetings and the sentiment is CTMH. The DSP is Basic Grey Origins, and other colors I used were Sahara Sand and Old Olive. Kraft Ribbon, Not sure what the green ribbon is, and VV wide ribbon. I'm totally loving this card and hating that I have to send it to someone! But.. that's why I made it!

Thanks for looking, and wish me luck on winning the challenge prize!

WishRAK - Magical Thank You

This card is for the WishRAK May Challenge Number 1: Any Fancy Fold.  I chose an Easel card, since I'd never done one before.  It measures 5 1/2 inches square, perfect for a 6" envelope (if I ever buy any. LOL!)

The blue card stock (Blue Bayou and Soft Sky) and the image, via an ACTUAL STAMP ~ thanks Mary Ann! ~ are from WishRAK. The image is CC Designs Swiss Pixies: Birgitta on a Tree Stump. I added the Scalloped Scallops Die-Namics at to keep it standing, they're popped up at the corners with a couple of pop dots. The DSP and the Soft Subtles buttons were from the Clearance Rack at Stampin Up, Couldn't resist a huge bargain!!

You may notice, the upper sentiment is from "A little bit of Magic." It's hard to see here, but this little gal has wings, and they're sparkly. The sentiment was fitting.  I also added the tiniest mount on her. (normally she has none).  She was just begging for a smirk!

Thanks for looking!

Prezzies for the Garni Girls!

Ok, so the Garni Girls plus 1..

We're meeting tomorrow for lunch. Haven't all been together since, oh, August? It's been awhile! See, we met (most of us) at the hotel we were all staying at when we PCS'd here into Ramstein last summer. We've stayed in touch and see each other individually here and there, but haven't all been together in way too long.  We adopted Heather at our first reunion, because she is a fellow Stampin' Up Demo and (funny story) actually had moved recently from Fort Leavenworth like me. She looked awfully familiar, and it turns out, we have mutual acquaintances, but didn't know each other! Who knew?

Anyway, it's lunch tomorrow, and I'm surprising everyone with a little gift. Sure, I stayed up late to make it, but for the first time in many days I could sit in one place for awhile without hurting, and really wanted to do this.  I did a modified version of the chest of drawers, and did it wider drawers instead of the narrower.  I have a hard time doing everything THE SAME so you'll see each one is completely different. LOL!

I did finally figure out which piece I was missing for stability. Sorry purple girls, yours doesn't have it. But it was a big AHA moment!

So, here they are, along with a close up of the tops.  I did the tags with the Tiny Tags stamp set and it's a gorgeous finishing piece!

I think they'll like them. And if not, they each have a daughter that might. LOL!

The blue and Kraft colorscheme was an after thought; I had run out of Cottage Garden.  However, secretly, I actually like the way these ones turned out better!

Did I do too much to these?
I've decided that perhaps they are not chests of drawers.  They're nightstands! *Teehee!*

Chest of Drawers

So, I've been wanting to attempt one of these for awhile. What better reason than my bff's birthday? *grin*

I used Raspberry Tart DSP, Kiwi Kiss textured cardstock, Matchbox Die, Beautiful Butterflies Die, and the Top Note.

I didn't stop at just the chest of drawers, oh no.  I had to FILL them. (granted, they're small, but you get the idea!) I put in little embellishments that she probably doesn't have, and she can use them in her card making. Did I mention that she's my Stampin Up upline? ;-) So, she's getting some spirally paperclips, Prima flowers, and a whole lotta off brand Rain Dots. (FYI - Mobel Martin sells them! Who knew? Mega jar size for 4 Euro, unless you get lucky and find them on clearance like I did.. 1,50 Euro!)

I am really pleased with the results and I can't wait to see her reaction. Let's just hope she doesn't read my blog before I give this to her. ;)
