23 August 2010

It's been awhile!

I can't believe I haven't posted a project for this long!!! Oh my!!

So here's some eye candy.  My calendar contribution for our local Demo Swap.  These are 4 5/8" x 5 1/2" in size, and my month is June 2011. I made 14 of these.. last night! LOL! Nothing like putting things off till the last minute!

The background is Baja Breeze.  The next layer is Naturals White, on which I stamped, from the Style Beautiful stamp set,  the Sentiment in Early Espresso and heat embossed another of the stamps in the set using clear embossing powder and Versamark. I sponged the edges with Early Espresso. (Sponging thanks to an ink mishap! LOL!) Then, I cut out the scallop square of Greenhouse Garden DSP using the Big Shot and Scallop Squares Duo Die (new, in the Holiday Mini) and cut a slightly smaller square of Vellum CS to lay over top. The Fleur De Lis is in Rich Razzleberry and is also part of the Style Beautiful set. The flowers are Fast and Fabulous (a hostess set) stamped in Pale Plum and Rich Razzleberry, outlined in Early Espresso and cut out. I attached a twine bow with mini glue dots. The brad is from the Antique Brads set - my new faves!  The calendar itself is sponged in Baja Breeze.

I probably overdid it, but this is my style. I am very pleased with the results!

Thanks for looking, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my wonderful Husband, who is over in the Arabian Peninsula!! Can't wait to visit him next month!!!

Wedding Word Play

This card is for my wonderful friend Linda. I held off posting it, hopefully she gets it soon. The post office has been weird on the "outgoing" mail.

I used Whisper White as the base (with extra padding inside to thicken it up). Perfect Plum panel, and then Embossed the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder using Vellum Cardstock and my Big Shot. Saying/Image is Word Play in Perfect Plum, accented with a Rhinestone.  Punched out the Scalloped Circle in Perfect Plum using the new Big Punch in the catty, and the 2 3/4" circle punch.  Hung it on the Whisper White Satin Ribbon and added pearls around the scallops and on the flower centers in the embossed layer.

Can I just say, this is one of my FAVORITE cards?  The idea came from the 2010-11 IB&C Pg 214, although mine turned out much better, if I do say so myself ;-) Embossing on Vellum is a challenge though, and involves using the rubber pads rather than both cutting pads. Just FYI ;-)

Thanks for looking, and Congrats, Linda and Einar!

It's H{ippity} Hop Monday!

It's my first H{ippity} Hop! I hope I can do it justice! Be sure to check in at the {ippity} blog to see a list of all Hop participants!

I used Now and Always for the butterflies and Flower, and The Simple Things for the sentiment. DSP is Websters Pages, and Card Stock is SU Kiwi Kiss, Rich Razzleberry, and Naturals Ivory. A bit of sewing, a bit of piecing, a bit of embossing (the sentiment), a bit of distressing; add a "build a brad" (which was stamped on Kiwi Kiss with the "itty bitty bits" stamp set) and tear some paper, and voila!

(I really need to create a light box for pictures.. LOL!)

I also entered it in the StampTV color challenge (just ended - under the wire or too late.. should have done it last night! OOPS!) "stvcolorcs3"

Thanks for looking!
