Here are the Stampin Up colors that are retiring...
And here is the new Color Chart. Isn't it FAB??!! There are 5 new colors in there, (Plus "Crumb Cake" is the new name for Kraft) and then what isn't shown is the 5 in colors for this next year (colors not shown yet):
Blushing Bride
Pear Pizzazz
Concord Crush
Peach Parfait
Poppy Parade
The Dots next to the colors indicate the new core colors... Blue is returning colors from the past "In" Colors. Red dots are the completely new colors (LOVE that Cherry Cobbler!) and the Green dot is Crumb Cake, which is at the moment known as Kraft.
Click on the pictures to enlarge them, you can see them better.
So.. that's why I was so excited on the phone tonight! Excellent colors... and you might inherit some of my stamp pads. MIGHT. We'll see. I may donate some to Cards for a Cause too.

We're getting there!
So, most of the Stampin' Stuff is downstairs, I've moved the computer desk over to where the Stampin' Stuff used to be, and so basically, I've just shuffled the mess around. But really, it's looking quite sharp! I know it will be more user friendly (and FAMILY friendly!) once everything is in place.
We still need another trip to Ikea, but I'm hoping tomorrow will solve that. Don't tell hubby, he's not aware of this tidbit yet ;)
So you want to see a card, do you? I actually have had time to make a few. I have a friend with a birthday coming up, and then I also wanted to do a challenge for GinaK designs. It was easy, a color challenge, and it was using some of the colors that I either don't use often, or that will be retiring at the end of June. So here's my Challenge Card:
Yellow, Black and White:
I love the new Embossing Folder that SU has. It's available to the General Public in May. At first, it seemed a bit too Geometric for me. However, it's very interesting, and adds a unique look. And with it being so tight of a pattern, the back side is also so different, and a totally different look.
I used my Copics and Spicas for the Flower, Yo-Yo Yellow and Basic black, plus Whisper White for the other papers, distressing, ribbon, pop dots, and those grommets (which are a PITA, if you ask me. Maybe it's easier if you actually use a PUNCH rather than cutting them out with a knife. LMAO).
Next card is the Birthday card. I wanted to play with the new Elements of Style Stamp set, also available in May. It seemed perfect for coloring, and honestly, I rushed this one. I then distressed it with the tool and ink, and voila!
I distressed the inside also and yes, I did a goober and glued it down funky. It's homemade, what can i say?!! LOL!
The last one was made using a set from a new(er) stamp company that's an offshoot of Unity Stamps called Ippity. I have been part of SCS's WishRAK and one of the gals on there sells these. This set is called "Where you should be" It's quite nice. I'm going to send this card with a bunch of wishes to someone who has asked for these images as wishes. She's been so nice sending wishes to others but hasn't gotten many in return, and a card would be a nice touch :)
The Sentiment says "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are" (e.e.cummings) and the inside says "You are Fabulous"
I just really like that together! You can't see it on these pics, but the Rich Razzleberry ink (purple) is actually embossed.
Ok, that's it for today. We're headed to the Speyer Tecknik Museum near Heidelberg tomorrow for our first of a few day trips during Spring Break. And, of course, Ikea?? :D

Hold that Thought!
I'm taking a mini-break while my stamping stuff gets moved from one floor of the house to another! It will be moved out of sight of the husband, who cringes every time he walks into the living room. Alas, that is where I've been attempting to gain inspiration.
Instead, it will be in the downstairs Playroom/Kids Room/Laundry Room/You get the idea. I've purchased the Ikea Expedit bookcase (8x2 cube) with the desk attachment, and I have plenty of other matching Expedit pieces to surround myself *grin*. It will be gorgey when I'm done, and definitely more user friendly.
Of course, I'm at the same time solving storage problems in every other area of the house as well. New wardrobe/shelves in the bathroom, computer area moving to the former stamping area, etc. Love the fact that we have Tile floors and I can basically move this stuff by myself. Otherwise, this undertaking would be nearly impossible. Can we say, HEAVY furniture?
Someday I'll unbury the rest of the space that is my master bedroom. Why do Germans not understand the concept of CLOSETS? Even now, in the 21st Century? I do miss my walk-ins. *le sigh.*
Back soon.. hopefully.

MFT - WSC - Glitzy Glitter (03.24.10)
Today's challenge card comes from My Favorite Things. The challenge has three parts:
Now, I don't know if we had to do ALL of them on one card, but since everyone else did, why stray from the norm?
Here's my result:
I used Pure Innocence - Blooming Good Day for the stamp. The Paper is Thoroughly Modern DSP, and Ribbon, flowers, CS are all SU. The glittered parts are her shoes (a girl has to have gorgeous shoes!), the flower, the grass, and the button on the flower. I used SU glitter.
I must say, I was quickly reminded of why I do NOT use glitter very often! It's now EVERYWHERE!
Oh, I also created my own raindrops, of course with glitter - dazzling diamonds - using Crystal Effects. You can only see 2 because one ended up being covered up by the flower. Oops.
I have to say, this is one of my favorite results, although it's very UN-mailable. I'll save it for a friend here ;)
Thanks for looking!
- Create a custom embellishment using Glitzy Glitter (or glitter of your choosing)
- Feature hand snipped grass
- Use her layout.

TMITA Challenge -More Tulips!
This week's TMITA Challenge was a 1-2-3 challenge:
1 - Paper Cupcakes image
2 - Ribbons
3 - Buttons
We can use more than just that, but we had to use at least those items. Here is my final result!
Even though I won the 2 images last week, I chose to use an image I purchased, because I've been eagerly anticipating our trip to the Tulip Gardens in Holland next month!
I also chose to use the "SCS Sketch 268" layout because of a WRAK monthly challenge. The other image and the sentiment were given to me by fellow wishRAK members. It was a hard sketch, and I hope I interpreted it well!

For the TMITA challenge, I found using the buttons difficult. I don't use buttons often, so they seem very out of place. Brads, I can handle those. Buttons, not so much! The ribbons are combined at the bottom; one is a white striped sheer, and the other is cranberry colored.
Did I mention that I also put fresh flowers on my dining room table this week? (Only cost 8 Euro! LOVE the flowers here!) Perhaps that has also inspired my color choice this week. Nah, they're just my fave colors. Even my wedding colors, 12.5 years ago :)
Hope you're having a great weekend!
